Dryer fireplace displaces family, kills many animals

MADISON, Wis. — A number of animals ended up killed and a loved ones was displaced by a dryer hearth at a house on Madison’s southwest side Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with the Madison Fire Department stated they were very first alerted to the fire when a neighbor termed 911 to report black smoke coming from the house. Crews responded about 2:15 p.m. to the 4300 block of Doncaster Generate

When they arrived and entered the dwelling, firefighters did not obtain any smoke, but they did obtain symptoms that a hearth had burned for a long time and brought on a “significant” volume of smoke problems via the house.

Further investigation unveiled the fireplace began in a dryer in the basement. Fire officers stated it possible burned for hours prior to at some point obtaining extinguished when the flames burst a drinking water pipe earlier mentioned the dryer.

The citizens weren’t property at the time of the fireplace, but an unspecified quantity of pets died as a final result. 1 cat was identified alive it was discovered in a room with a shut door that shielded it from the smoke and effects of the fireplace.
