New off-leash pet dog park opens in East San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) – A new off-leash doggy park has opened at San Jose’s Welch Park. 

On Friday, city leaders and local community users collected just about to rejoice the opening of the city’s 10th puppy park, located in the vicinity of Tully Road.

The fenced-in park includes a double-gated entry, separate significant and small puppy places, a pet ingesting fountain, benches and wood fiber surfacing — giving a soft location for puppies to participate in. 

“This is a quite unique position that will enable increase the lives our committee associates and of our pets,” explained Leticia Ochoa, President of Welch Park Neighborhood Affiliation

Inhabitants in the area expressed that they required facilities for pets in the community for the duration of a Community Visioning conference held by City Councilmember Sylvia Arenas in September 2018. 

Because then, the City Council, the Parks and Recreation and Neighborhood Expert services departments and community groups worked collectively to make that eyesight a reality. 

The pet park is open to the community, but to make sure the protection of pets, proprietors and citizens there are a few of park policies: dogs have to be accompanied at all periods, no more than two dogs are allowed per individual at one time, house owners are responsible for choosing up soon after their canine and dogs will have to have evidence of license and good vaccinations. 

Dogs in warmth are not authorized in the park and any canines that demonstrate intense actions will be requested to go away. 

Welch Doggy Park is positioned at Clarice Drive and Huran Travel and is open just about every working day from sunrise to an hour after sunset. 

The dog park is adjacent to Welch Park which has barbecue pits, a softball field, playgrounds and community restrooms.
