Port of Peri Peri provides spicy African-Portuguese rooster to Pleasanton

From Africa came the bird’s eye chili. From Portugal came the chicken. Mix them and you have received peri peri hen.

The Tri-Valley will get a flavor starting off Friday when the Port of Peri Peri opens in Pleasanton. It’s the third cafe for a group of Bay Region business people, BF Business enterprise Ventures Corp., that introduced the strategy to Fremont in 2019 and to Palo Alto last summer time.

At Port of Peri Peri, the chiles are mixed with lemon, garlic and other herbs and spices to build a top secret-recipe sauce. Right after marinating for 24 several hours, the rooster (they use all-purely natural, veggie-fed, no-antibiotic birds) is cooked, then flame-grilled and sauced.

Buyers can have their peri hen many techniques: the whole chook, parts, tenders, or in wraps, sandwiches, pitas and salads. And you can management the degree of warmth, from “mild and mellow” to “extra very hot and spicy.”
